The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) recently observed the movements of a group north of El Fasher, a route traditionally utilized by terrorist forces under the command of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and its allied mercenaries. This path is critical for supplying the SAF Sixth Division, which is presently besieged by our forces.

Upon receiving intelligence, the RSF promptly deployed to assess the situation. It was during this assessment that our troops encountered a faction, later identified as part of the Sudan Liberation Movement led by Commander Abdul Wahid Mohamed Nur.

This group was en route to territories under their control. Unfortunately, this encounter led to casualties on both sides. We extend our prayers to the fallen and wish a swift recovery to the wounded.

The incident, a regrettable outcome of miscommunication and inadequate field coordination between the RSF and the Sudan Liberation Movement in North Darfur, deeply concerns us. In response, both entities initiated dialogue on the same day to address and swiftly resolve the misunderstanding, extending apologies where needed. We value the Sudan Liberation Movement's dedication to neutrality from the conflict's beginning and appreciate their constructive approach during this challenging time.

This event underscores the vital importance of enhanced coordination among all neutral armed movements concerning their troop movements. Such measures are crucial to preventing future misunderstandings, as the RSF is committed to restricting the mobility of war-fomenting mercenaries within areas under our protection, both within and beyond the Darfur region.

The RSF expresses its sincere regret for this incident and the loss of life that it caused. We are dedicated to improving communication with all relevant parties to foster a Sudan characterized by justice, freedom, and equality.
